James D. (J.D.) Weir, President & CEO
Mr. Weir founded Primus in 2001 as the first specialty pharmaceutical company to focus on prescription medical food brands using proprietary ingredient platforms targeting major chronic diseases with metabolic etiologies. Prior to founding Primus, Mr. Weir led various OTC and prescription drug and medical device businesses for Procter & Gamble (P&G) and The Kendall Company's former home healthcare subsidiary, Kendall-Futuro. As a marketing executive with P&G, he managed OTC businesses such as Crest® Toothpaste and later high-growth prescription drug businesses such as the leading osteoporosis drug Actonel® and first combination hypertension drug Ziac®. At Kendall-Futuro, Mr. Weir managed commercial operations, including marketing and product development, as well as the company's successful turnaround as Vice President. Kendall-Futuro had the Curad®, Curity®, Telfa®, Kerlix®, TED®, and Futuro® wound care, venous compression and durable medical equipment product lines. He was instrumental in leading the sale of Kendall-Futuro to German multi-national Beiersdorf AG. In 1999 and 2000, during a working sabbatical outside of healthcare in the emerging Internet sector, he led brand development and start-up commercialization of the first successful e-commerce personal lines insurance company, Esurance®, which was sold to Allstate®. Prior to P&G and graduate school, Mr. Weir began his career as a CPA with Deloitte. Mr. Weir graduated with honors from Harvard Business School with an MBA and from Augustana College cum laude with a BS in Business and Accounting.

Michael J. (Mike) Martin, CFO, Treasurer & Secretary
Mr. Martin is a seasoned financial executive and a CPA. Prior to co-founding Primus, Mr. Martin was the President of a Citibank subsidiary and later the CFO of a major division of PricewaterhouseCoopers. He also was the CFO of a successful e-commerce start-up company having broad cross-functional and investor responsibilities. Mr. Martin began his career with one of the major international CPA firms. Mr. Martin received his MBA from Harvard Business School and a BS in Business from the University of California at Berkeley where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa and Magna Cum Laude.
Calvin M. (Cal) Mitchell, SVP of Product Supply
Mr. Mitchell has over 30 years of line management operations as Division Vice President & General Manager for pharmaceutical operations for Abbott. He also headed the corporate materials purchasing, warehousing and distribution functions for Abbott. Prior to Abbott, he managed Johnson & Johnson's baby products manufacturing and distribution facilities. Mr. Mitchell began his business career with Procter & Gamble in over-the-counter drug manufacturing. He was a lieutenant in U.S. Army. Mr. Mitchell graduated from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln with a BS and an MS in Chemical Engineering.
Ernie Zaik, Director of Business Development
Mr. Zaik has over 30 years of broad based experience in sales & marketing, product development, business development, improving operations, developing strategies, and growing businesses in several healthcare sectors. Mr. Zaik co-founded JET Enterprises a national management and business development firm. Additionally, Mr. Zaik co-founded HealthCare Dimensions, a national healthcare Services Company that became the platform company under Axia Health Management and was eventually sold to Healthways. At iPhysicianNet, Mr. Zaik played a significant role in securing $80 million in financing and venture capital and helped grow the business to $20 million in less than 3 years. Mr. Zaik serves as Founder, President, Board Member, and Guest Speaker for numerous professional associations in the healthcare, disease management and wellness industries. He holds a B.S. in Exercise Physiology from Northeastern University.
MaryAnn DeMarco, Director of Marketing and Sales
Ms. DeMarco has 20 years experience in the Pharmaceutical industry, both in big Pharma and Biotech. Over the years she has worked for Novartis, Pharmacia, and Pfizer as well as a start-up biotech company. Ms. DeMarco has vast expertise in marketing blockbusters i.e. Xalatan® and launch experience for which she has won several awards for campaign development and launch execution. In addition to marketing, she has experience in sales, sales training, trade, grass roots initiatives, medical device, and thought leader development. She attended Seton Hall University and graduated from William Paterson University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Sciences and a minor in Biology.
Robert M. (Bob) Levy, M.D. Director of Clinical Development
Dr. Levy is Board Certified in Rheumatology and Internal Medicine and was in private practice in the State of Washington for 30 years. He was the founder and president of the Olympia Arthritis Clinic and Olympia Osteoporosis Center, and the Medical Director of South Sound Clinical Research Center. In the latter capacity, he performed or oversaw more than 200 clinical trials and consulted for the pharmaceutical industry in matters related to early product development, protocol development, and study conduct. Prior to joining Primus, Dr. Levy was the Vice President of Clinical Development for Histatek, Inc., a start-up biotechnology company. Dr. Levy received his MD from the University of Chicago School of Medicine and completed his rheumatology fellowship at the Scripps Clinic & Research Foundation.
Frank J. Strocchio, Corporate Controller
Mr. Strocchio joined Primus in August 2005, and has been its Controller since July 2006.  Frank has 11 years of accounting and corporate finance experience, and is an alumnus of PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP, where he managed a variety of financial statement audits in the southwestern United States.  Prior to joining Primus, Frank served as Controller for three joint ventures operated by Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc., and managed the accounting for Starwood’s $400 million domestic joint venture portfolio.  Mr. Strocchio holds a B.S. in Accountancy from Northern Arizona University, and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Kathleen E. (Kathy) Arendt, Director of Human Resources & Administration
Ms. Arendt has over 20 years of Operations Management expertise in both large and small organizations. Ms. Arendt spent 12 years with Boston Edison Company at Pilgrim Nuclear Power station, a highly regulated environment, as a Senior Supervisor where she managed an administrative (union) staff and served as an emergency communicator to the public. As Director of Operations in two northeast economic consulting firms, she developed programs to enhance corporate culture, mentored and developed managers, designed processes to streamline operations, served as Executive Committee member, and chaired corporate compensation committees. Ms. Arendt holds a B.S. in Business Administration from Newbury College.
